Wayne County Airport Authority welcomes new Media Relations Manager
DETROIT (Sept. 20, 2018) – The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) is pleased to announce the addition of Lisa Gass to its Government and External Affairs department. Gass has been hired as the new media relations manager effective Sept. 10.
In her position, Gass oversees media relations and assists with strategic communications planning for the Airport Authority, which operates Detroit Metropolitan and Willow Run airports. She also serves as an official airport spokesperson.
“Lisa’s knowledge and expertise of the working media in metro Detroit is an asset that is valuable to WCAA,” said Vice President of Government and External Affairs Kenneth Dobson. “As a journalist, Lisa has the ability to connect with and tell stories to a wide array of audiences. In addition, she is aware of the economic contributions Detroit Metro and Willow Run provide to the region. Lisa’s skills will serve WCAA well as we prepare to announce new initiatives that will directly impact our region.”
Gass is an Emmy-nominated journalist who began her career as a television news producer in Lansing, Mich. After relocating to Detroit, Gass worked as an assignment editor for WXYZ-TV and most recently, WJBK-TV.
Gass is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with a minor in Political Science.
